Now you see. We are all fugitives. We have always been fugitives from the void. Whatever comfort, whatever power we gain from outside of ourselves diminishes us — because comfort and power, unless they are won from the void inside of us, are illusions that make us forget the emptiness that carries us. When we forget that, we believe we deserve comfort and power and so are capable of any evil. We deserve nothing but what we make of ourselves. We deserve nothing else. And when we understand that, then nothing is enough.
My friends @vincentpeone and @joesabia created this video for Vogue.com starring Sarah Jessica Parker in her NYC home. It and she are as adorable as you would suspect.
Laibach - The Whistleblowers
Shot with a one of a kind LOMO lens from the Soviet Union, “The Whistleblowers” is inspired by provocateurs such as Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning, continuing Laibach’s long-established critique of power and political freedoms. “They predicted the downfall of Yugoslavia through their music,” says Norwegian director Morten Traavik of his most recent collaborators. “Now they’re back in sync with what’s happening.”
Please let this be a thing that happens.
Since my dear, long-time friend noahkalina uprooted himself from Brooklyn to become a photographer recluse/lumberjack, he has been producing some gorgeous work. Keep a look out for Cabin Porn, and be sure to pick up a copy.
Cabin Porn, the book.
We’re happy to share that Cabin Porn – our labor of love – yielded a new creative opportunity for us. We’re making a full-color book about the cabins you built and shared with us. Little Brown will publish it.
In the book we will share our story of Beaver Brook, as well as feature ten other cabins and their builders with original photography by Noah Kalina and stories by Steven Leckart. Plus, we’ll include hundreds of cabins submitted by the community. All of this combined, we hope, will be a brilliant reference to inspire you to make your quiet place somewhere.
To get on the waiting list for the book, sign up here.
Thank you for your support over the past four years, and most important thank you for generously sharing the cabins you’ve discovered, built and loved. If you haven’t shown us your cabin yet, please do now. We’d enjoy considering it for the book.

Can’t wait to start working on this. It’s going to be awesome!
